Summary

A mixture of new build (rooftop extension) and fire remediation works on this city centre project made the scheme a difficult one to manage with many logistical issues to overcome. New built up rainscreen cladding, SFS framework, Glazing, Curtain walling and roofing meant RKC undertook the envelope package to the new build element along with removing combustible insulation to existing spandrels and installing new fire barriers and Rockwool insulation to these areas.

Scope of works included the design, supply and installation of:

• Aluminium Powder coated panels
• Rockwool Duoslab insulation slab / board
• Aluminium helping hand brackets and rails
• TYVEK Firecurb VCL
• Non combustible weatherboard
• SFS metal framing
• PFC Corofil Fire Barriers vertically, horizontally and around openings in rainscreen
• Aluminium powder coated cappings and flashing
• Schuco Aluminium windows, curtain walling and doors
• Hot melt and liquid inverted roofing system with ballast
• Rockwool and fire barrier remdial work to existing spandrel panels
